Are you one of those people, who look at runners with admiration? Maybe you think they’re so cool, in their cute outfits, fitting in a run at lunch, or before work? You may think that they are super humans, and that running was just ‘not for you”.
That’s what I used to think too. My mom took me out for my first run, I was maybe 10 years old, unfit, overweight and wearing pink sweats. I nearly died that day (overdramatic, I know, but I honestly thought that was going to be the end of me!). For the next 30 years I told myself ”running is just not for me”. Until one day I just laced up my trainers and went for a run. I did the same thing couple of days later. And then again. And suddenly, 6 months down the line, I am one of those people who squeeze the run before work. Granted, my outfits are far from cute, as I’m still in the “let’s see how long I will stick with it, before I start investing money” phase, but I make it work. And (to my utter surprise!) I actually enjoy it.
I often get asked: how do you do it? How do you find motivation to get up in the morning and go running? Here is the simple truth: I don’t overthink it. Watch the video to find out the 5 steps I follow:
Here is a bonus tip: have fun, find what works for you, and keep doing it. Don’t wait to feel “motivated”. Motivation is overrated.
PS It’s always a good idea to consult your doctor before picking up new workout regime.
