Stay cool and drink up

Heatwave in London – three words that I don’t say often enough, and despite the temperature I’m actually enjoying the weather. It’s such a welcome change after weeks of cold and rain.

So I sit here drinking my green juice to stay cool and hydrated and that’s what I will be sharing with you today – quick and easy recipes for you to have, not only when you feel yourself melting away.

Detox Watermelon Water

4 cubes of fresh watermelon

6 leaves of cilantro

2 drops of peppermint essential oil (optional)

When making this recipes, it is best to use a 32-ounce BPA-free plastic container or glass container. Add 32 ounces (about 900ml) of water to your other ingredients and let it infuse for as long as you have patience for. Keep it in the fridge or add a few ice cubes to make it colder.

Green Goddess Smoothie

1½ cups dairy-free milk

2 cups spinach

1 handful kale

2 tablespoons tahini

½ cup berries

1 tablespoon flax meal

In a blender, add all of the ingredients in the order they are listed. Blend until smooth. If you want your smoothie to be colder, add 3-4 ice cubes, then blend. Please only add ice cubes if you have a high speed blender that can handle the crushing of the ice.

Feel free to add water to reach your desired thickness. Use organic produce whenever possible.

This smoothie recipe serves two people or may be used as a substitute for one large meal for one person, which would be perfect in the summer weather.
